Ray marine St40

When I purchased my rib one of the above was already fitted in the consul, I was told it worked , but never used,

I already have fitted a Garmin with sonar so never used it, I was looking on line at these and wonder if it's worth keeping it. When turned it on it did not appear to have power, is it worth having it looked at or is it just over kill with the Garmin

I have a ST40 as well as a Garmin.

This week I replaced the transducer (Airmar P7) because the cable in the bilge was broken & I got sick of repairing it.

I like to have it as the digits are large & it's an instant answer of depth at a glance, rather than searching on the Garmin screen amongst all the other info.

Has your transducer a brass wheel on it for measuring speed over water, the one for this is mounted on the transum opposite side from my Garmin transducer

OK, maybe I misunderstood your post - I thought yours was for depth.

No, mine only measures depth on the ST40. The Garmin also does but the figure doesn't jump out at you.

It's a thru' hull transducer mounted in the bilge.
