Guess what - less than a month later!!! GRRRR Why didn't I keep my mouth shut???
Went to check on the boat today about 6pm - water up to deck level - that's about 1000 litres or a ton. Pump is powering up every 2 mins as normal but then shuts straight off - won't work on manual either.
Had to drive home - pick up my drill pump and then pump it all out in the dark - with wet feet and a 240V drill in my hands - thank God for marigolds!!!
It took 1.5hrs - and the pump is rated at 2500lph - I had to stop every 5 mins to let the drill cool down though. The blue sparks from the brushes in the drill did nothing for my nerves either!!!
Just ordered a new pump - it has to be the same for now - easier to change.
Considering we get 3x the rain we used to I suppose 3x2 years isn't too bad - this was just 2 days worth of rain!!!
The drill pump was a Godsend though.
