Passage plan on computer?

Hey folks,

I have a garmin 551s, and am wondering if it is possible for me to plan a passage, nothing complicated, just a couple of waypoints etc, on my computer and then transfer them to the GPS unit, or would it be the job of an expensive piece of software?

Cheers in advance

Si

For a small price you can download home port software which gives you full mapping and planning. Then transfer plans to and download tracks from the 551 via an SD card. It works well and quite easy once you get the hang of it.
