Wet weather gear, a bit of tide, sea or wind against you, no chance. Unless there's someone else in the boat to recover you or another boat nearby, you have a problem.

Especially with boats that have little draft, bit of wind & it's away. Main reason I usually have a drogue out when fishing on the drift.

The non commercial unit I'm designing/building is simply a secondary safety device. Though the time to build and install is 15 hours or more, the cost is low. As I said, I'm not always connected to the short tether when trolling and don't want to hang my self in extending it's length. Since it's only a 15 foot SIB. Thought I had already wrote it's for use on lakes in Canada. Not the Atlantic.

Drift rate due to wind is the same regardless of body of water.
The prop spinning causes as much damage regardless of body of water.
Why are you not connected to the kill cord? after all its only a 15ft sib?

Hey, chill out! Maybe he likes to smoke a cigar on the afterdeck when he's finished dinner?

wast meant as disrespect to the size of the craft, was using his reasoning for not using a killcord all the time.

Thanks for all the great comments, to those who have commented above and PM'd me. As for the others making non-constructive and ignorant comments- thanks for nothing. I'll be sure to correct your posts at any mucking opportunity, if you actually write your own posts that is. Scott.

If you are only interested in the views of people who agree with you then ribnet the Internet is not the place for you. You opened a discussion thread, that is an invitation to discuss, not to congratulate you for a project you have yet to build.

And the only person that has been rude, is the OP.

Time to invoke "The Rules"👍

I'm certainly not here for a pat on the back, I share ideas that others may have an interest. Further POLY, I have tried to help others with various bot/motor/electrical troubles. Lastly, I won't be intimidated, this includes your post above. If you have something to say like the above do it privately - admin team or no - Your one of the worst offenders here is degrading other peoples posts, maybe you should exit.

Your were already told POLY, perhaps had I looked at your title first it would have been privately.
