I like the look of the Radar. $1000 all in. Would be nice if they could make it safe for use on an average sized RIB.

GPSMAP178C Sounder

Any one know if the 178CSounder comes with a through hull transducer/option and can it be flush mounted cant find any info . Going to stick with Garmin for the new rib still thinking about radios though?

I had the 178c Chartplotter when I had the Ribcraft and had the thru hull transducer, I believe it is a dual frequency transducer you need for it to work. Mine worked fine through the hull. You will see it on the Folly cruise if you look in the splash well of Biggles Ribcraft.

Hi it can be flush mounted if you have the external gps ariel option or you can have a flush mount bracket which allows for a quick release option

Look at the options on the 178c web page
