Hi Dan,

Ok, got to laugh at that one

The reaction from your posting has been very positive and sincere. Although not sure if my 'roughty toughty boat' being mistaken for rich's boat is a compliment or not.

For your phone and camera is it just wet or is it terminal. A good squirt of WD40 usually cures most things.

Dan you could try putting the camera in the airing cupboard. My radio fell in the bath and looked well dead but after 3 days was born again and has worked OK since then. That if you cant get a new one from the insurance man.

Dry it out in the oven and then take it back to the shop. Done it with several (ok 5 then!) motorola phones and they always give me another one! Airing cupboard is also a good idea.

All products mounted in the open air will suffer from some misting up etc. The tiniest amount of moisture in the atmosphere inside a product like a plotter will liberate itself on to the most sharply contrasting zone of the unit usually the window. Times like early spring or late autumn sunny day. As the internal temperature increases the moisture moves back into the general air inside the unit. Silica gel will help. Some manufacturers have small apertures in the unit (vents) to help speed up the demisting process others have a gortex membrane across the vent to allow the unit to "vent" but will not allow moisture back in. Depending on the part of the world you live in misting will occur at some time..

Well Swifty, I have to say that the problem seems to bee solved.
She has really been up to the test now for three times and still there is no sign of moister inside.
Maybe it helped !

Dan.

Glad to hear its ok. My simpler solution also seems to be working ok. Its been out in rain, snow, ice and sun. Fingers crossed.
