There's quite a range of waterproof VHFs available for not much more than 100 now.

When I bought the Axis it was pretty much the only waterproof handheld available. Its performance is excellent, but it's big and heavy. May well be time for a change . . .

Why p**s about trying to blow yourself and your radio up with non standard replacement batteries when you can have a submersible waterproof 5 watt handheld with 12 & 240v chargers, Ni MH 7.2V 1400mAH battery pack, dry cell battery pack back up all with 3 years warranty for less than 100.00?Drop me an e-mail if interested.

Steve

That will be the good old Standard then
Worth paying a bit more for Lithium-Ion though
Wont need the spare AA cell case then.

True enough John, my choice would be the good ol M1 EuroV followed by Entel 604 followed by M31 LiIon then HX270E - but you know how tight JK is I was pandering to his wallet

JK, don't chuck it in the bucket, stick it into a juffy bag and send it to me.

That's a very kind offer. Could you get me the batteries too?

How long would it take you to sort it all out and get it back to me?

John
