I use belfield software chart plotter on a netbook. Www.chartsandtides.co.uk/chartplotter . It costs around 70 uk pounds to buy and you can download a trial version. I think the trial runs 5 times so you can give it a good test before you part with any money (especially if you leave it open and hibernate the pc. I managed to test it for abound 2 weeks that way before it expired). I think it's well worth the money.

Chris, just looking at changing from 2011 tides only with belfield, is the extra worth it and does the chart version cover all tides again ?

I use the chart software at home for planning trips (because my admiralty paper charts live on my sailing yacht all the time). Just looked and it seems to have tide tables included up to December 2013. After that date I think you have to repurchase at a reduced price to get updated charts and newer tide tables.

I use this too - actually to have access to the tidal diamond info as much as anything else. Good functionality via 'Gadwin print screen' software provided to print hard copy area charts as back up.
Even better - the 25 is now for lifetime ; no annual renewal fee ! wow
