Had one a few years ago and lost the antenna off that a couple of times as well !!!!!!

Had one on my old rib and it worked well, replaced it with a fibre glass one and the was not as good. Still have the metz as an emergency spare, and will prob fit a new metz on the new rib.

I like the fact that you can unplug the cable at the antenna so if it does break its not a ball ache to change. However the standard PL259 plug that would go into this antenna does not look that waterproof:

What did you guys do to avoid water getting into the connection?

I always pack a ton of vaseline in something like that. Does the job.
