Lowrance LMS-332C troubleshooting

We are having trouble with our Lowrance LMS-332c plotter/sounder.

It has taught itself to switch itself on. It then proceeds to manically beep-beep-beep-beep-beep and adjust the brightness of the display non-stop.

Any ideas?

Doesn't the power button change the display brightness on that unit?? Sounds like you've got a faulty power button that is sticking. Is it catching on anything, ie: dried in salt that may be keeping it stuck in?

Yes, the Power button does do the brightness. I suppose it could be salt. Unlikely, I would have thought though. I will check the Power button next time I am down at the boat.
