Chris, ours went the same way. I called Lowrance intending to buy a new 'un, explained the situation, sob story etc. They said that they ran a service exchange program which got you a LCG 4000 for about 100 quid. The lcg 4000 is quite a bit smaller than the 3000 & I had to make up a bezel to cover the old fixing holes. The 3000 has a reputation for being flaky, beware if you buy a secondhand one.

Hi Chris, I've got one sitting around doing very little which you can have. It has a small nic in the cable outer which would be simple to seal. It worked OK last time I used it. It'll cost you a pint sometime

The 3000 may be flaky, but was a vast improvement over the 2000 (which tended to ignore satellites if anyone within a few miles had a radar set on.)

Yeah then the 4000 is even better. But even that is old-tech now the Point-1 is out with 10Hz update, GLONASS and Galileo (what an epic waste of money).
