I've installed a few of these in different places on my boat.

More for a floodlight kind of lighting (gearing up for night dives, in my case; as opposed to a courtesy/safety type illumination, where you're trying to keep people from tripping over or running ito things.)

They've held up to normal spray and direct high pressure hose washdowns; I am eventually going to install one which will be underwater most of the time (to light up my boarding ladder); have to get back to you on how that one survives.
