Is the Lowrance Globalmap 3500c any good?

I have a Lowrance GlobalMap 1000 and looking at upgrading it due to problems and have seen a globalmap 3500c for around 360 quid and apparently i need a 25G map for the south coast for a round 210

can anyone give feedback if these are any good, reliable or good value for money compared to the competive products out there

any insight will be gratefully recieved

chris

Used one very briefly for the first time yesterday. Was quite impressed by the sharp clear screen and nav data. Don't know how easy it is to use on a regular basis though.

We run one of these and find it superb. Easy to read and very easy to use. Try downloading the simulator from their web site, it convinced us to buy one. Having had lowrance kit before and excellant service i'm happy

3500c Software Update

For owners of the Lowrance 3500c a software update is available from Lowrance's web site. There is also one available for the Reciever unit. These are Free and downloadable

I have an Eagle 2000, which is Lowrance's value brand. I'm very please with it, in particular the screen is easy to read, the key navigation is logical, etc. I have two complaints: When zooming the screen refresh takes a second or two; also, the 7" screen is actually 6.5"!
