Icom M421 DSC VHF

Morning guys and gals,,

Some more help re electronics please.

Thinking of have a good clear out/upgrade on the dash electronics side,
as so far have 2 fishfinders,2 VHF's Raymarine 435 plotter, navman fuel, smartgauges etc etc so a few threads to follow

But first question re the M421 Icom, this i think has been prog with a MMSI number,? am thinking of removing this vhf and puting onto the Sweden yacht, can i take the number with the set?, or will a new number have to allocated ?, I think if a new number, the set will have to be returned to a dealer to be wiped, am i correct ??

Regards Tim

To remove the MMSI number it has to be either done by us or a dealer.

I would suggest if you moving the radio on to another user send it back here.
Marked for my attention. explain that I have agreed we will "reset" the MMSI number for you FOC.

This will mean the unit is back to the "out of box" state and then you or the new owner can then enter which ever MMSI number you need.

Hope that helps

Regards

Thanks Jon,, very kind of you,,
Reading up on this, it would seam to be the best way round it,
better that trying to take the number from one boat (Rib) to the other (Yacht) and just apply for a new number for the yacht

Will get the unit off and send over to you,,will mail first, so you can expect it

Regards Tim
