Icom DSC

Hi,

My new Icom 601 vhf/dsc can transmit a dsc call and I know it is recieved by the other station, but I cannot recieve a reply. The voice part of the radio works okay on transmit and recieve so I am guessing that it is fitted ok.

I know that it is under warrenty, but I was hoping that with all your wast experience you might be able to tell me that it is something trivial that I can fix, so that I do not have to take the console to pieces to remove it.

Hi I would give the guys at Icom service a call as they have helped me trouble shoot problems from great distances whilst working offshore.

Have a feeling they might have a problem with these, tried to order the same set and was told that they are not available due to a problem. Definitely worth talking to the supplier.

Thanks guys

You were both right, when I did ring Icom they did know about this fault, apparently only in Japan, and they are collecting it to repair/replace tommorow.

When I rang Humber to inform them, they also had another customer with the same problem, so beware!
