Possibly any auto factors - if the leads come off as a separate unit. (but take them with you as some will ask what car you want them for as opposed to what length you need)

It's when you have the "bespoke moulded into the coil" type you start to get a bit limited.

Cheers 9D280, they're only 15cm long but there's 6 of them so I thought they look ready for replacement !! I was curious if the ones for cars were up to the job given that marine wiring is usually higher spec hence the higher prices that we seem to be stung with if you mention the word marine..

Ebay, off the roll. Don't mess around using car HT leads.

Found a guy on ebay who can make me a set of 6 up for under £20 including delivery! They're only 15cm long to fit on my Mariner 135 2 smoke as when I was changing the plugs I noticed discolouration on the ends & given it's probably 30 years old it deserved a set !
Didn't fancy paying £10-12 each for the genuine ones ( Yorkshire with a hint of Scottish) so wondered what everybody else did?
Thanks for the replies.

Can't see why marine leads should be any different from land based ones. Bikes are far higher spec than outboards.
Chainsaws are far lower "user care" than lawn mowers yet have longer hour maintenance.
IMHO if they're insulated, then they're insulated. Maybe the cowling is more to blame.

Most car ones can't be shortened by 5mm so they work in an emergency

Back in the mid eighties I had an astra that went OK. I fitted some silicone HT leads to it as they were reckoned to be the biz at the time. Definately improved the tractibility of the engine.
