Standard Horizon are perfectly good and well proven. And towards the cheaper end.

Had mine for a few years and it works well with the usual limitations of hand held as against fixed.

If your interested I have just upgraded my handheld VHF to one that has DSC and so my old one is available at a good price, it is an ICOM M35.

IC-M35 : Buoyant VHF Marine Transceiver - Handheld VHF Marine Radio : Icom UK - two way radio transceivers, receivers and navigation products

Still think I have the original box it came with, bouyant with clear voice, good unit, working perfectly. Have all the bits for it, charger, manual etc etc. It has a belt clip which you can use to clip it onto a life jacket, I also had a clip attacted to the strap so the strap could also be clipped to the lifting ring of the life jacket, hence it couldnt get dropped.

Still available to buy new at RRP of £203, sound chandlers have it at around £179.

My good second hand price £100, but you would need to come and collect it as I do not want to que up at a post office. I am near Ringwood and Ferndown so probably a couple of hours from Bristol. Let me know by Private Message if you want it.
