Doesn't seem all that cheap; Here it is for $164 US (80 pounds; this side of the pond, though): http://www.gpscity.com/etrexventhc

Try Mathew Redhouse;
Trades as "Sounderparts" on tinternet

He's cheap and a genuine delaer in Lowrance, got mine nearly 18 months ago from him Lowrance H2O iFinder and NauticPath chart for about £380 I think. It was the best deal around at the time and was fairly close to the US prices. But without the hassle of possible import tax malarkey and warranty issues (2 year on Lowrance)

Not sure what might be on offer at Earls Court Boat Show.

If you can wait until 11 Jan, go to London Excel Boat Show where there's sure to be deals.

I have dealt with GPS Warehouse www.gpsw.co.uk and found them excellent and cheap - haven't compared prices recently but their service is A1 even for sending stuff all the way here

Beware of MES and cactus - they are the same company. They sold me a Raymarine radio with the Uk special channels missing. Also THEY lost part of the order and then tried to take me to court over it!!!

Codders the radio they sent you, I am sure, was one of the first batch brought into the UK by Raymarine, which were sent out un-programmed by them and totally Raymarines issue!!!

I would suggest you wait till the London Boat Show in January, I saw an awesome bit of kit that is going to be launched then.
I was so impressed that I will be getting one.
All I can say is that it is the size and weight of the average mobile phone and very very very feature packed.

Nost sure as the radio had been out about 6 - 12 months. Nevertheless the way they treated me was totally disgusting.

Their couriers LOST the DSM300 fishfinder module. They admitted this and sent another over to Guernsey. Then the original module turned up as well. Obviously the person who signs for the delivery is then responsible. The people in Guernsey were rather unreliable to say the least and never got around to sending it back.

Cactus then decided to take ME to court as it was easier than chasing people in Guernsey. I paid in full originally and only asked for ONE DSM300 - hardly my fault they sent 2 and hardly my fault they couldn't get it back either. Their attitude really stank - no trying to compromise or anything - just nasty bully boy tactics. As if I will EVER use them again after this!!!

What's this new gadget then? I was about to buy a handheld vhf to replace the one those "people" in Guernsey stole from me - is it worth me hanging on???

Codders,

As far as VHF goes always best to wait till the boat show time as I am sure there will be some good deals to be had!!!
There are some good deals to be had on the HX500 at the mo, reduced price and Speaker Mic inc FOC....big saving!

Also there is a review of all hand held VHF's about to come out in PBO.
Well worth a read before you buy!

The new gadget is top secret so you will have to wait!
Oh and its not from us

Cheers
