We have been informed of the following GPS jamming exercises:


Dates: 22 to 26 September 2008.
Times: Short periods of three minutes up to three hours per day between 08:00 and 17:00 hrs.
Location: Sennybridge Training Area - N52° 01.181’ W003° 36.684’

Dates: 13 to 24 October 2008.
Times: between 09:00 and 17:00 hrs.
Location: Sennybridge Training Area - within 5 km of N52° 01.181’ W003° 36.684’

what is this for ? some navy exercise ? or is it just me being stupid?

Yup the Sennybridge area is in the Brecon Beacons - it's where there are a lot of army ranges and where the SAS do their training. The warning is put out because it could cause problems for walkers and pilots - there could be a problem for mariners as well as it's only about 30 miles from the sea.
