Since the x102 doesn't have a memory card slot, and it has to be upgraded via the NMEA 2000 network, they don't put the upgrade on the web. It has to be obtained from Lowrance direct.

I am still waiting. I would have to say that the equipment is good but the support is absolutely terrible. Probably typical of a US company who cannot understand why we want our fuel measurements in anything other than USG.

Does anyone have the x102c upgrade??

Anyone else have this problem?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Might be getting somewhere at last!

I have finally received from Silva, UK, two files which need to be present in the GPS to load accross to the x102c.

I can't try it until the weekend, but it looks more promising since I have files with the correct names.

PM me if you want the files.

Did you get the rest of the network working OK?

Tony

Tony,

Likewise not had time yet to re route cables through appropriate console gland. When I did put the memory card in to load the file it saw the executable file but did not allow upload all I could do was delete using "Browse MMC files" Does it self extract from MMC card automatically when you power it up with the card in the slot?

As I understand it, you need two files. One is .bin and the other .luf. Insert the card, brose to them and bob's your. You execute the .luf file.

I have PM'd you the instructions.

I shall try it again on Saturday.

Success at last

Right. We got it all working.

My conclusions are:

The GPS needs the latest software before you can update the Sonar. It will not recognise a large sd card. I loaded the executable on a small card and it self loaded on power up, then turned off.

I had the Sonar software on another small card, browsed to it and there was an option to load it. The GPS told me it couldn't find the sonar, gave me the option to try anyway.

It all works just great now. Fuel in liters, but I can live with not having litres!

Some of the GPS functionality is also changed but I am now pleased with the set up!

PM me if you need more detail.

It doesn't help if the boiat is 80 miles away! If it is in the drive, you can try all this stuff more easily.

Good luck!

Tony

This is good,

I shall be trying exactly the same, will try a small card with files loaded onto root of card. Sounds promising.

Simon,

Take your laptop with you, with all the files on it.

That way, you can load the GPS upgrade onto the SD card, load it onto the GPS, then delete it from the SD card and load the Sonar update.

That gives you options.

Good luck!

Tony
