Garmin mapsource installation problems

Have just tried to install V7 mapsource on my pc at the end of the process it gave me the following error report:

App: UnlockWizard
At: 4/25/2006 6:50:09 PM (UTC)
OS: Windows XP Service Pack 2
Processor: Intel Processor Level: 15, RAM: 261612 KB
TDB_PRODUCTDIR.HPP-119-2.11

I have of course emailed Garmin about this but just wondered if you guys had come across this error before? is there some conflict with service pack 2? Finally am i likely to encounter a similar problem when upgrading to V7.5 (free upgrade)?

Try shutting down apps before installing or even try it in safe mode.

Have you tried installing with a gps connected?

Just like they tell you not to plug in a USB device until the software is installed.....

Wasn't sure if that was the prob - my version tends to be a bit different to most people's.....

Thanks Fred .... I guessed that an hour after asking I thought you meant the Mapsource waypoint management software rather than the maps. I recently bought Bluechart Atlantic v7.5 too ........ the ability to create routes and waypoint additions via mapsource ( and upload all those from my old GPS 128) is terrific.
