Garmin 550s Plotter - what's it worth?

I have a fully working colour Garmin 550 S plotter on my Ribeye, I need European maps so I might upgrade it later this year ( it features UK coastal charts currently) What is it worth?

are you using the chart issue as an excuse to upgrade, or would you be happy with the euro charts? If it's just the charts you want, I may be able to assist depending on which charts/format/media you need

Cheers Dave, yes it's the charts I need, we're off to Lake Garda in Italy, it would be epic if you had a solution that doesn't mean removing and installing another one as this works ace?

What format does your plotter use g2/vision? Which media, sd card/micro Sd?
Does Garmin produce a chart that covers Garda?

If you do change, look at Raymarine dragon fly with free EU charts. A nice cheap small plotter.

Another alternative would be the Navionics app if it covers Garda, if it's only for a one off holiday. Just found out that the Garmin G2 covers Garda but not sure in what detail.

You don't really need a chart for Garda, just get a map there ain't much on the charts and you can't really go wrong anywhere

I have "acquired" the Garmin chart for Italy & the Adriatic which includes lake Garda. I'm away at the mo & need to test it to make sure it works. It's yours for a £20 quid donation to either RNLI or Macmillan, or a tenner to each.

Edit
I've had chance to test it & it works perfectly. It is Garmin VEU014R which covers Italy, the Adriatic & Adriatic coasts of Croatia, Montenegro, Greece etc. PM me if interested.

Thanks Dave, just flying back to the UK, I'll drop the SD card in the post tomorrow.

Cheers,

James
