Years ago I broke down on an old motorbike at the motorway services and used my spare fuse finding the fault. The garage only had Blade fuses so I had to bodge one in the fusebox with a couple of screwdriver bits from my small toolkit.

That convinced me to change everything over.

I agree to a certain extent but glass fuses are far more corrosion resistant. Just a quick wipe of the ends. When a blade fuse corrodes it destroys the whole thing and usually won't come out again very easily!!!
