Evinrude Tacho gauge

The Gauge for my evinrude is on 3300 RPM before I start the engine ?, is there anyway to reset it too Zero ?
All the warning lights work when you switch on the ignition, its just seems to be the tacho out of sync ??

Does it go back to zero when you turn the ignition to the on position ?

Oops, just re-read your post, and it obviously has power, so I'd plump for a duff gauge!

There is a small screw accessible from the back.
It is NOT a zero adjust screw, so don't try that. Been there, done that.
I think it adjusts somewhere in the middle of the range. I can't remember exactly.

The armature on the needle has seized. Had this on an old Honda gauge not a lot you can do unfortunately.

I concur with what has already been said - the armature is stuck, probably due to moisture in the gauge corroding it.
If you're patient/careful, you can 'un-crimp' the metal bezel from the body of the gauge by carefully and progressively levering it apart with a flat bladed screwdriver. The needle can then be freed off (they are free to rotate 360 degrees in these gauges). Drop a pack of silica gel in there while you've got it open. I use a miniature bench vice (with plain jaws) to then re-crimp it all back together.
Or you could just fork out for another one!

It seems to be a bit of a design flaw that the gauge body is not a sealed unit leading to moisture ingress.
