Icom videos
Has some good, albeit very basic info videos on how DSC is used
both ways.
Request position and get in on your plotter from the VHF
as well as the emergency functionality.
Good simple demos for those not in the deep know.

Thanks guys

Only query now is would both boats need an M601 or can the M601 get the position from any other DSC ?

Although at more than twice the price of the cheaper alternatives not sure if I can justify it. I'm sure its quality kit though.

Poor David.
Thats only the 16th time you have mentioned your (non) boat delivery.
I really feel for you.
You ordered on the 14th October that was in 2003? I take it?
Those Ribcraft chaps must hand build each rib with such loving care that it takes a long time to make each one. And then, when built, they are so good, that this huge queue of buyers form, who push the waiting list way out.
Still it will be wonderful when it arrives I am sure.
Will I see the rockets and other fireworks go off across the Bay when it turns up?
