When removing the VHF ready for the new boat it turns out that the silicone was stronger than the case and it's now cracked
Is this terminal? If I could find a case / box to drop the unit into will it remain waterproof if mounted external (current plan on new boat) or will this have to be flush mounted with loads of sealant to protect it??
I've checked and all is working well at present and really don't want to replace with yet another unit - especially as we have private channels pre loaded
Your thoughts appreciated as always.
