Bulk comercial radios

It's been a long time, since I last posted anything.

Guys am looking for a bulk of Motorola 2-way comercial radios, they could also be Vertex Standard radios also, but am looking for them for under a budget of £80 if really possible free. I would prefere if I didn't have to spend much money, and ebay aint really helpping. Can anyone help.

Drop me a PM if you have any that you can give me, or more details you know what to do guys.

Cheers, Appreciate it!

Andy

Fecking quality!

Whilst on the subject if you do get some free radios can you see if you can get me an SR5.4 with a Yam 90hp two stroke hanging off the back, a trailer would be nice but not essential.

Radio comms

If "commercial radios" are to be used, a specific frequency and a license from OFCOM would be required (this can be VERY expensive).

Depending on what you want to use them for, (just general contact in a 2K area the UHF 446 frequency band can be used. They are license FREE, and Motorola do a duo/quad packs which are quite reasonable - they also do the professional style XTNiD costing about £160 each!

If you need any further help or info, contact me.

Hope this is of some help.

Wouldn't a couple of CB's do, of course you'll need a license for these to.

Handheld CB radios are not widely available anymore since OFCOM released the UHF 446 PMR frequencies. A well known store have a twin pack of Motorola's for £25 at the moment and a quad pack of Binatone for less than £60.
Although the UHF 446 PMR system has only 8 channels, each channel can be split into sub-channels (using CCS tones) so only radio's set to a partic channel AND sub channel will contact each other.

Again these are public frequencies that anyone with similar kit can listen in or even talk back to you, if you want someting a bit more secure, it gets expensive.

Andy i hate to break it to you don't have a rib so therefor you don't need a two way. Just use your VHF to contact people. And why do you need bulk? Its not like your working on voyager doing ship to ship transfers of your crew.

I'd have a sniff around some of the companies that hire kit into the North Sea Intervention industry, They turn there stock over quite quickly as it's paid for within a few months of hire and it's always good stuff Motorola or Standard Horizon etc

http://www.netltd.co.uk/radiohires.html would be one such company
