Oh i'm very, very with you on that one but once I've done that on some of my outings, and I have some good company on others, a little chill out quietly in the background mixes very well I find

I may have a different definition of "silence"
A B***dy great outboard roaring its head off 4ft behind me isn't what I would call "quiet"

True, but it can be nice to hear the engine working
It's when you lower the revs or find somewhere sheltered and out of the way of any potential traffic, sit back, take stock of your surrounding, light a cig and think " SH#T I'M SAT ON TWO TANKS FULL OF PETROL!!!"

Hi, How important is the radio or is it just music people are after, I did a lot of research into this last year and fitted a excelletn value solution which sounds amazing. I bought a JBL marine Amp, Infinity Marine speakers and a RCA to phono lead that goes straight from my Ipod into the Amp.

Doing this you only get a small hole that the lead comes out of on the dash for the phono lead to the ipod and the sound quality is amazing!

Do PM me if you interested in more details on the setup but it was so easy to do and I fitted the amp into a breathable battery box and wired it direct to the battery with a switch mounted on the battery box. Remember the volume can set set up perfectly on the amp and then controlled on the Ipod.

No matter what speed travelling we have great tunes (This was on my old Ribeye 600) New Rib has sony waterproof headunit, not used it yet but bet it will not be as good as the old system.

I did the whole install getting the amp and speakers from the US and gettting Rib Shop to mount speakers, I did the rest and I had change from 250 for the whole set up.

Hope this helps,
Andrew

I got the new one working today and will tidy up the wiring and mounts tomorrow. I binned the Polyplanar kit and put in a Sony Marien head unit with a couple of Clarion speakers.
Has a radio and the CD player plays all formats, its quite loud!
