I think a mate who's a bike instructor has one of these or equivalent. I'll see what feedback he can give-anything he uses takes a real beating.

Surely there would be a sizeable amount of inteference for Blue-tooth... Radar, VHF, not to mention weather and the pounding of waves in the rough... Also as soon as you move away from the console it'll be a weaker signal more likely to disconnect, presuming thats where the bluetooth receptor/transmitor would be housed... In a cockpit RIB probably not, but an open RIB I'm not sure there won't be diffiulties...

I don't know but wireless would seem to have its difficulties... I'm more of an old-fashioned-plug-and-wire type of person...

The wireless intercom system works very well. Last year we purchased a 4 man set from DS Developments for the Polish SAR. Max distance 400 mtr with good reception. We are now awaiting delivery of a second set for the same user. The system is incorporated into a modified Gecko helmet with a PTT button on the the helmet. A SAR swimmer in the water or on board a stricken vessel can communicate with the rib ie Parker 900Baltic rib or mother vessel without difficulties.

I hope I'll be able to test and use them soon Andre For now and private use I'm looking for more cost effective sollution for those brand new Geckos from you - some weatherproof motorbike bluetooth intercom + tube of silicone & other stuff to improve waterproofness...
