HX280E doesn't float,5W power
HX751E does float, 6W power, but lower battery capacity £35ish more

Both good reliable units.

Chris, do yourself a favour and get another £15 - I bought the HX751E from Channel Ribs this week and it's a superb piece of kit, *really* impressed for the cost. Very substantial, floats, lots of features and power, great design and speaker clarity etc:

Trade members - any deals on handheld VHF?

Thanks Max

As Mike says, all the Standard Horizons are great radios - very well made.
