If you are "just" using it to top up... almost any charger will suffice.

Its a different matter if you need to charge from flat - then you need more amps and hence a more expensive charger.

Not the right season ... but car boot sales are a good source of good quality chargers but you do need to know a good un from a bad un!

If it's in storage, grab an Optimate (or the cheaper version, which is just as good)

Ctek all the way! They can be left on without any damage, and can handle AGM's should you decide to upgrade batteries in the future. That is what I use to charge my Odyssey 925 AGM.

I have a range of Cteks on my toys and have never had a problem with a charger. Another advantage is that my batteries are lasting a lot longer than ever before.

Don't see why not. Are you running twin batteries? I have twin batteries & for the winter I close the link switch, effectively making one big battery which is outside the limit of the MXS 5. If that's not an issue for you, it should be perfick

Just got an ordinary car battery charger for topping up and stirring the batt during the winter months. I connect up about one a month for a 12 hour stint on each battery, same batteries I purchased from new 7 years ago so must be doing something right.

Ditto on both counts.......

I re- wired my Halfrauds charger (slightly) with a 2 pin (20A) Bulgin Buccaneer connector instead of the croc clips. I did the same on the side of the console. The fly lead (to the charger which hangs form the roof) is quickly un- plugged and re- routed to the conector on the trailer winch post which is fed from the split charge on the towing socket.

For those with the 7 pin N&S sockets (rather than 13 pin - I have that hance needing a breakout box) you could fit the charger with an inline "S" type socket & lead the charge cable straight to the car

Not had a duff start due to battery yet!
