Ian - I've ordered mine direct as Leapy did - I've ordered a car charger that allows a direct live to the battery.

Hubby will be fitting!!! - so will let you know how easy that is (very easy for me ) and how effective

I purchased through Paypal so that part was very simple - total cost including car charger and UPS delivery from overseas £90.00

Thank you, yes very interested, it could also work for bareboat charter as well as an anti theft / recovery option. Might even be an option for a dealer on forums to supply if they are good

leapy

i'm up for one of these too. I presume when it "lets you know if it has moved out of an area" it sends a text or something to your own mobile?

How do you the locate it, as you say it "will tell you where it is".

Ian @ C2 ribs. If the above is possible i will order one of these with the car charger for battery linkage. If you are interested too, I will start a thread, then contact the bloke and see if we can negoitiate a deal with the numbers involved or ask him for a forum member voucher code that lasts a fortnight or something.

Paul - I've already asked this question regarding bulk order or discounted limited offer - as I thought it was something I might be able to arrange for other Ribnet users

Will let you know his response - if you would like to pick this up am more than happy

Was going to see how you get on with the one you ordered first in all honesty. If it does what we think, should be well worth it. It will also let me know if it breaks free of the mooring or is taken from the farm when stored! i could stop them with the 12 bore before they ram raided out of the two sets of gates. very useful!! Can you keep me posted

They come direct from China via DHL...delivery was very quick. 2-3 days if I recall and the process can be tracked via the DHL website.

I've got mine hidden on the boat and then the hard wire to the battery is sort of 'lost' amongst all the other wiring. There's nothing obvious to tell there's a tracker fitted (apart from me telling the world via this thread )

If you call it, it replies with a text giving lat, long, speed, time, date and IMEA. Or, it can be configured to auto text if it starts to move, or, if it moves beyond of a geo-fence

Sounds good to me. Question is, would you call it and go and say "hello" to those that had it, or would you call the police???

You can listen in to what's happening but you can't speak through the tracker.

I suggest you buy another PAYG SIM linked to an IED

Sorry, i meant call it to get the gps position, then physically go and say "hello"!! If you know what i mean.

Thanks for your help with this. If KY gets her order and it works i'll certainly be doing the same and perhaps another for a friend.

I know exactly...the other half's two brothers are built like the proverbial and have an array of baseball bats/cricket bats/bad attitudes

I wouldn't want to waste any police time sorting our burglaries-in-progress
