Any good map apps for my iPhone!

Well I just got the Garmin Street Pilot app for my new iphone and it works baddass. i also used FlyToMap it is very accurate and works as advertised!

So it got me thinking if there was something similar that some of you use for marine purpose, not looking to just use my phone as a marine gps but i would like to have an capable of doing it just for fun!

Try Navionics Marine UK and Holland. Very good...

+1 for the Navionics app. You wouldn't want to use it for any major passage planning but it's a very handy backup.

I use Watermap they can give you the UK in sections and is half the price of Navonics. As JK says I wouldn't use it for major planning!

Ok, bait taken - what's missing from Navionics Marine UK and Holland - I've used it for a while on an iPad to create south coast routes which then get manually transferred to the onboard Garmin (and for planning day trips I've been very pleased with it) ?

Not sure about the Garmin, but if you have the latest Raymarine the plotter and the IPad/IPhone "sync" with each other automatically - you can add a wireless network to the older versions and do the same thing.

The portable version I have of the Navionics on my Iphone could be used for navigation but the screen is a bit small - it's got most of the features of the regular version on the 14" widescreen display we have on the race boat!

Sadly I can only dream of an upgraded GPS (never mind a Raymarine with wireless) to sync with the iThingy !

I can understand not wanting to rely on an iPhone screen when travelling at speed in a RIB, but was more worried about what was missing from the Navionics app - I haven't yet spotted any obvious gaps when compared to my paper charts.

Its Electronic Admaralty Charts , Whole of Uk for about £45.
Works with iPhone and PC, Also on my car satnav (Roadangel 7000) as a chartplotter on my Rib .

As a freebie I have Imray covering the south coast which is quite handy, I use it to see what the tides are mostly!

Marine Tides Planner and Weather Pro are the two I use most, followed closely by Romi.
