Ais

This looks very interesting for RIB use, small, compact and reasonably priced plus easy to fit.

It seems to be receive only but look like a nice bit of kit and easy to install.

Interesting

If you get one let us know whether it says what it does on the tin?

Lowrance AIS

I am going to fit one of these as while the aerial pole is off for modification I'll get them to ad a place to mount the aerial.
The Lowrance HDS manual seems to say that it will accept and overlay AIS data. While I like my Lowrances the manuals leave a lot to be desired, can any of the resident Lowrance experts confirm that feeding in hi speed 0183 data from this unit will show up on the chart page as ship AIS data?

Personally I would never buy anything thats only nmea 0183 now, it's ridiculously out of date technology.

I've now got one fitted on Seawolf but I'm afraid it will be the end of October before I can tell you if it's any good...

I am hoping for one before that. I am going to get another mount welded onto my light pole ready for when I can afford to buy and install one of these soon.
