I also think this is the thread Andre was thinking of, although it only applies to Garmin GPS's and Icom VHF's.

Icom 601 and Garmin 188C

yes we have sorted it out as the problem was the GPS, I took a third GPS over with me and that was worked very well with the IC601. Of the first two units , one just had a blank screen and with the other the NMEA signal to the VHF was just too weak . Just as well I could get a hold of a third unit in such a short time(the same model). As for the radio well the IC601 is very very good

The faulty ones will just be replaced

Jon pls give my regards to Matt

Andre

This is how the console looked during the tests. A depth sounder/fishfinder DS400X digital from Raymarine has been fitted today

the red battery isolator switch which you can just see at knee level has been replaced on both ribs cos that particular one is for single battery installation. Our ribs have twin batteries

New Boat

Hi Andre,

It is looking very good. I especially like the tube colour. Console layout looks very ergonomic. Will catch up with you when you get back home.

Best wishes
Kevin.
