Yammy 90 carb clean

Just had someone to look at my engine as it had a fuel issue a few weeks ago,but hasn't happened since,he said the small filter was gunked up with crud,,strange words I know!! So he thinks the carbs need stripping down and cleaned,he don't want the job, question is. Can I give them a good spraying of carb cleaner? Try this first? As I don't know anyone who can do the job for me,,or does someone know someone who can any were between caernarfon and oswestry as I can drop it off for them,I would probably have it serviced aswell. Thanks for any advice or help. Forgot to say it's an early 90 year and the chap done a compression test and all 3 cylinders between 120 and 130 and all good sparks. So he says its defo carb and filter issue

Carb cleaner doesn't do anything unless it's stripped down.

Have a go yourself, its a very easy job if you go about it methodically. No special tools or skills needed, just a basic understanding of a spanner and screwdriver.

Satisfying too when it sorts the problem.
