Tell me about it - it's not even a diesel.....

I just wish Evinrude would bring out a V8 ETEC - I am sure it would weigh a lot less.

The ETEC 250 is 240kg
and the ETEC 115 is 170kg, soooooo in theory a 350 ETEC should weigh????

Not as simple as that - if you were just comparing powerheads "maybe" but otherwise the gearcase etc need not be THAT much heavier.

For example the Suzuki 250 and 300 weigh almost the same as nothing has really changed.

Evinrude

250hp is 1.04hp per kg

115hp is - 0.67hp per kg.

As engine size increases the power to weight ratio gets better as the gearcase weight doesn't increase that much.

Going by the 250 the 350 would weigh 336kgs but that's not allowing for gearcase similarities so I would guess at it being nearer to 300kgs.
