I also hate putting 2 stroke oil in the tank. It costs me £70/tank . But I do love 2 strokes.

PS. Can anyone tell the difference in engine noise beween a 4 and 2 stroke when travelling faster that 30 knotts on a RIB?
Use different oil then!!!

Put it this way: I've got a dive instructor friend who runs an E-tec (not sure what size, 90 maybe?) and if we're running side by side at speed, I can clearly hear his engine over mine (Yam F-115.)

At idle, they're pretty similar, but if you wrap the rpms, the E-tec seems to wail pretty loudly.

Hmmm. Hit the quote button at the bottom of the page, as I recall.

Did it work right this time?

jky

Wait; that would explain all the extra brackets I saw. Never mind.

I'm getting a little tired of being in agreement with this guy.

I havent tried an E tech that size yet .. but you must think its some motor Mollers? coz a 250 verado is quite a power plant IMO.. sheer silence, and brutal mid range thrust like I've never felt before from an outboard

Yep, I agree. The weight, price, economy and reliabilty issues were the negatives.

Try a big Etec. GED will give you a demo.
