Yamaha trim problems

I have a Yam 90hp 2 stroke, noticed last 2 outings that it is not holding its trim position, thought initially i had just knocked the trim button, So i left it in its fully up position while i enjoyed food & pint only to find it had trimed back into the water.

No oilly leaks from trim system, im guessing theres a simple test, change fluid, purge system?????

what should i do or look out for???

the bleed screw will also let engine drop. sometimes referred to as the override. you fill the reservoir with the engine up on the tilt locking lever until oil starts to come out of the filler hole.

I had an intermittent trim/tilt switch . Used to trim the outboard up and down
when under way . Might be worth checking this as well .

Don't know about your motor, but a 2005 F115 is purged by running from full-up to full-down and back a few times.

My Yammie 150 does the same thing. A couple of service guys have told me that the seals on the piston start to leak after a few years. As I understand it, there is no way to repair these other than to replace the entire unit. I just live with it!
