Yamaha autolube 30 hp or pre mix?

Yamaha auto lube 30 hp, is there any good reason for removing the auto lube system and running pre mix 2 stroke? Are these auto lube systems reliable or need particular maintenance attention?
Cheers!

Never had any trouble with mine. Will be fine if well maintained.
Can't say the same for some others.

Most autolube systems meter the oil to help avoid fouling the plugs with extensive idling. Then increase oil delivery as RPMs increase. Straight pre-mix is a compromise.

If you carry oil aboard (and you should) if the premix system goes wonky you can just add some to your main fuel tank to get home.

You're welcome. Oil injection systems are fairly reliable anyway. Maybe one of the mechanics on here can comment on how many they see fail, but its probably pretty small compared to all the other bits which go tits up on a boat.

I've run both premix and automix.

Curently on premx - and I can't hang around at idle for long before things start to oil up!

+1 to Cap'n Jack's spare oil advice.
