Yamaha 250hp 2 stroke is the best 250 of all!!

Did I get your attention now? I need two 250hp two stroke engines on my 28ft. charter rib. I have read some tests over two and four stroke engines, and is seams that they have verey much the same gasconsumption, twostroke is faser, and makes more noice.
Which engine is the best of Evinrude and Yamaha. My opinion is that the Evinrude is faster, but the Yamaha is longer lasting. Just a little like cars, the japaneese cars seem to run for ever.
Yours Sincerely Martin

Yamaha every time. Gut feeling coupled with experience, but to be fair, of older engines. Still a die-hard Yamaha fan though now the owner of an Optimax!

Suzuki

Having just been on the suzuki open day I would say the new suzuki 250 v6 is the best 250 on the market.

Engines

My last rib had a Yamaha 100hp 4 stroke and I can tell your I would not even think about a two stroke.
My rib buddy has a 75hp Mercury and last year going on a cruise to the Isle of Man he used twice as much fuel as I did.

There's a big difference between carburetted 2st and injected 2st. The Yamaha article in RIB International makes an interesting read.
