Yamaha 15hp 2-stroke. What was the standard pitch prop supplied.

Bit of a long shot but does anyone have a Yamaha 15hp 2-stroke with original prop so they could tell me the pitch that was supplied as standard? Or perhaps have reason to know this?

Mine has a 10.5" which is too high and it seems they never made a 9" (my go-to pitch for a 15hp) the sizes jumping from an 8" which I'm sure would be too low to a 9 3/4" and I'm wondering if this was the standard?

Cheers Jeff. I realised there aren't many of these Yamaha's being used on the forum at the moment but it was worth asking.

Anyway I've hedged my bets by ordering more than one prop so as soon as we can get on the water I can find the best performing. Will report back in time.

Factory delivered props with any given HP motor are usually medium pitched and most times just suited for light loads applications. If plan boating with larger Sibs, Ribs medium to fully loaded will lug the motor, will need a less pitch prop to pul wot revs up for combo to perform much better.

For that will need to install an induction tach and know which is the min-max wot rpm range factory stated for that motor. But that's a different boating story..

Finding the best prop performer without a tach reading is dangerous..

Happy Boating

Actually Jeff I'm slightly embarrassed to say two have arrived and one more due Sat... so the test will be between four. Gone a bit over the top.
