Whilst your at it, google Yamaha Outboard Corrosion or Verado Lower Unit problems or Suzuki Outboard Corrosion, or Yamaha Snapped Crankshaft problem, or Yamaha Flywheel Problem you can then learn loads from lots of very knowledgeable people who post on forums the crap they have read in other forums where a bloke heard from his mate who knows someone that... blah blah blah...

Like I said title of this thread should be "who would own an outboard"

Proper 'American' english translation: "But we're in England, and this is an English forum, so it is termed a saddle. Don't know what the US would have to do with it?

Quite ironic (not to mention hilarious), especially considering that some from across the pond believe that it's Americans who are the ones constantly butchering the language.

The post regarding My failed transom/ saddle bracket was to seek information and on the replacement of the saddle/ bracket. I also did it to poke some fun at Kerny after a bad day on the water. I was not bigging up my Outboard nor was I running it down. The simple fact is that all outboards have their weak spots. I believe that this could have been mine. however if you google broken saddle/ bracket for the etec 40/50/60 class I could only find a post on the Kerny failure, This leads me to believe that the failure of the bracket/ saddle in this power class is not a common failure (the common failures seem to be injector/ water in fuel)

Regards
