What size of outboard

I have been asked by a neighbour to recommend an outboard for his diesel Merry Fisher 695, as a "get you home" option.
What does the massive recommend-the outboard will be new.
A Yamaha?

Oxo deisel outboard runs on red ! 200hp or 300hp
Bit pricey but good new on the market

id go 10 hp yamaha high thrust Brian i bought my 60 hp for my quicksilver 500 on the IOM when i was working there can't remember the name off hand but he was the only yam dealer on the island i think he ended up having premises in peel.
the 4 hp non high thrust i had on would do 5 knots in good conditions no tide

8hp yamaha or tahatsui 9.8/9.9
