What Fuel Can?

Can anyone recommend a fuel-can that I can carry spare fuel on board my Ribcraft 585?

It will be kept on the deck and probably be strapped to a seat pod for our trip to Alderney and after I will use it to transfer fuel to the boat to refuel it's 90L on board tank.

I have several Yamaha 25l tanks but as far as I know there isn't a spout that will fit the screw top.

Any ideas?

Best thing I ever got for fuelling a rib was a Jiggle Syphon.

Any 25 litre can will do if you have one of these.

Mine empties a 25 litre can in under a minute and is a damn slight easier than farting around with a nozzel.

Why not put a shutoff valve and a Yamaha fuel connector into your fuel line? That way all you've got to do is plug the tank in and turn the inboard tank off.

It's what I'm doing on the Ballistic as I've got Yam tanks lying around too.

That might help as spare fuel during the trip but won't help with refilling the inboard tank before the return.

Alderney Fuel

Englishles,

I don't think he will be topping the main tank with his UK fuel in Alderney, think he will be brimming all his tanks with Alderney Juice and saving a few £££!!!!

'The Fiddler' Backs the 'Jiggler'..ME TOO! 100%
As to Fuel containers, the Barus Milly tanks are Bullet Proof, may well fit in the Consul seat ,and can also be fitted with a connection for instant application (if prefered).

I removed the "engine" end of a yamaha fuel hose and then used the fuel line to transfer from the tank to the car recently - it wasn't fast but once primed it syphoned well enough and I could do other stuff in the meantime.

I also loved my jiggle. I got it on a whim at the boat show but used it all the time to top up the old boat. Worth thinking about where you can balance a tank above the filler.
