What age and paint colour for my Mariner 40's

Hi
I have two mariner 40 2 cylinder 2 stroke engines on my rib.

Engine Models 40ML

Serial Numbers 6E9 L 310314 and 6E9 L 316764

Can anyone tell me what age these are and also what colour paint match for respraying the gearbox on one of them?

I believe these may be Yamaha built due to the Made in Japan stickers on the serial plate?

Thanks

Dunno the age but likely earlyish 90s. Paint colour could be either Mariner Grey or Mariner Light Grey. Both colours are still available from a Quicksilver dealer. The light grey is almost a silvery colour and the grey is just, well, kinda metalic grey.

If they are Manual start and not electric, then 1986 and 1989

Magic. Thanks for this. I've ordered the paint I need and verified with Mariner, latest one is 1989. Pretty good condition for age I'd say they haven't been used much.

I abandoned them in September after scallop diving, got the boat out today, 1 started 1st time, the other immediatley once I renewed the plugs.
