water seperator

I have a 2005 evenrude225 I would like to fit a water seperator but do not know what type. I have looked on the net & I am now confused. They offer 1/4in 3/8ths etc also 10 microns -25microns? etc what would you advise? Also I have a built in fuell tank in the console should I place it there or on the transom next to the engine.?

Many thanks
Bernie

Hi Bernie

Try these http://www.asap-supplies.com/ and look for Racor Filters, either 12R or 320R depends on your max fuel flow.

It's just how many litres per hour your engine would use.
120R around 110 lph, 320R around 210 lph. Give ASAP a call if in any doubt of the correct unit.

I would fit it close to the fuel tank and ideally somewhere protected from the elements. The aluminium casings have a tendancy to corrode. Also, make sure the primer bulb is between the filter and the engine otherwise you can experience problems. You needn't ask how I know
