U sure that white hose is water?

On mine (OK, a 60, but same basic idea and designed about the same time) it's an air hose to presumably give the fuel pump a "double bump" of air pressure per rev to work the pump. My fuel pump's air feed isn't connected directly to the maifold as most are, and has 2 air supply hoses connected to opposite sides of the crank case.

Well i don't know forsure. all i know is when I removed that piece and cleaned out the mud, reassembled it and the cooling water now was working out the pee hole.
