Bigger is not really an option, I'm already going to have to pare the spec back from what I would really like so adding more boat and then more trailer and a bigger engine to push it is all going the wrong way sadly!

Transducer/well is already on the list. Cover is not - it's too windy here and I think it will chafe the tubes but also it will be impossible to fit. May get a console cover to protect the electronics but long term I'd intend to build a shelter for it to keep it under cover anyway say some time in the next 5 years - got 3 acres of land to play with round the house so it should fit in

I think I will end up with a single dive console as experience with the Destroyer is that the further forwards you are, the drier you stay (in other words I get earache from the Mrs about getting wet!!). I think in our windy conditions, near a tube could be a wet place to sit ... also the indicative cost of a dual console plus four jockeys is another biggish step in the wrong direction pricewise so I'll probably end up with a single dive console plus a twin jockey behind that on the centreline, same as I have on the Humber at the moment.

Sorry about the quality of the photography, I had to crawl under the cover to take it, bloody rain!
They are nothing special, simply a blind, threaded insert in the deck put in by Osprey, as is used for bolting down Jockeys etc. and then I have simply gunged down a large S/S washer on top and screwed down a counter sunk allen bolt to hold it in place. The idea is that when I want to use them I remove the allen bolt and screw in a tie down ring - I've yet to get these made just something else!!!!
Cheap and easy!

I use M8x20mm long A4 grub screws to plug off the 'big head' fixings in my deck when not in use - nice and neat.

316 grade 'lifting' eyebolts are good to use as tie-downs. Only a couple of quid each.

Yes, and I am still not terribly impressed
Definately the weakest aspect of Ospreys. Having said that, my new tubes do hold pressure well.

The bow was mis-shapen and there were 'cosmetic' issues.
I am told that things changed when their QA was 're-organised'.

Yes, some relatively minor cosmetic issues that I live with, my fault for specifying swanky toobs but they do appear sturdy and air tight.

One question for Etec owners, particularly Vipermax ones, what sort of fuel economy (litres per nm) do you get at displacement speed, steady cruising (20-25kt) and fairly near flat out? Just so I know what I am looking at - running costs are an issue.

Probably, but it is of interest to a surprising number of people - I've been asked a couple of times and I don't know the answer.

I'd have guessed that fuel consumption/Nm is very good in the lower part of displacement speeds 1000-1500rpm, worsening as planing speed is approached and improving again once on the plane?

My rib make about 2-3kts with the engines just in gear - it can't be burning much gas at those revs. I think
