Used outboard dealers int sarf

Evenin all,

I'm looking for a 2nd hand engine somewhere between 60-90hp and would like to know all the dealers that might have some in the southampton region (possibly pompy area too and anywhere else nearby). I know there are quite few but don't know all the contact details etc. I've exhausted all those on the IOW as far as I know and they've all told me these engines are like gold dust!

Back off to uni Monday (southampton) so may be able to visit a few places, hence why I am posting now ( i suppsoe its a bit urgent in that case).

Thanks everyone.

Cheers

Tim

Tim,

Thanks, I have already tried fairweather. They were supposed to be getting a 90 tohatsu in but it never materialised (phoned today). I've checked the super duper directory too much no luck. It seems no one wants to sell em on their own, only bolted to a boat and who would want that?!

Cheers

Tim

Tim,

Was it you who called me about the Merc 90 I had for sale on Sat afternoon? If it was, I'll know more about the Mariner 75 by the end of the week. If it wasn't you, please ignore this drivle!

Cheers

Andy

BHG have a suberb new showroom at the Ampress Park in Lymington. They are "KEY" Yamaha dealers and have a massive selection of quality motors.
If not used then you will get a very good deal on a new motor with service back-up.
Paul or David Martin on 01590 616479 or try google and find their website.

Have to agree- Paul did me a great deal on a Yamaha 40X short shaft - new but old stock £1650!

Guys,

Thanks for the replies!

Robin, I'll check out those, thanks. 90hp would indeed make the flatacraft fly, but possibly subsurface!

Ollyit, I check boats and outboards and bembridge outboards regularly but no such luck at the moment. I don't really want to get an outboard off ebay, especially if it means I can't view it. Thanks for the help.

Andy, It was indeed me who phone you! I had no idea you were on this forum. I would appreciate the details of the motor. If you could PM that would be great.

Rogue Wave, thanks for the top tip

Ed (Ribraff), cheers for sorting that, I'll look forward to receiving it. I had seen that motor on ebay and it looks ok, but I think its an old motor made to look newer. A bit wary of ebay too.

Islander and George8910, I was going to go to BHG marine and I phoned there outboard place at bucklers hard but they didn't have anything in at the moment. To buy new I think is way out of my Student budget! Thanks for the tips though.

Cheers

Tim

Good luck with your search! I did buy an old mariner 40 from Island Outboards in Yarmouth - really wished I hadn't... described as one mature owner from new died a death within a day - I don't know if this is representative though come to mention it they did 'service' an old seagull of my dads which subsequently left him drifting!
